If you feel stuck in your life or your job, Rising Minds can help you get things on track.
Perhaps you want to make some changes or start afresh – like improving relationships and friendships; getting a better work/life balance; or making your way into education, training or work.
Perhaps you feel particularly held back by challenging circumstances or difficult past experiences. All sorts of things could be holding you back – lack of money, unemployment, a criminal record, past addiction, homelessness, or trauma.
Or perhaps you’re struggling in a job that’s stressful, or feels like it isn’t going anywhere – and you want to make some changes.
Whatever it is you’d like to happen in your life, we can help you discover your own resources to take charge of things, feel good about yourself, and plan for your future. We do this by helping you to understand and appreciate yourself, to discover your true capabilities and then put them into action.
You can select any combination of our three services – coaching, mindfulness or conflict coaching. Whatever works for you.
As a social enterprise, we’re committed to offering, where possible, our services to those who couldn’t otherwise afford them. For more information read about The Rising Minds Foundation.
In life coaching you’ll get to talk confidentially to someone who’s trained at helping you work out what you want in life and how you can get it. You get to choose your life coach from our pool of highly experienced and trained professionals. When you’ve chosen your life coach, they’ll meet with you to find out all about you and where you’d like to be headed in your life. They will listen carefully, and ask you questions to find out more. They will help you understand yourself better and work out how you can get from where you are now to where you want to be. Your life coach will also encourage you to overcome obstacles and take the action you need.
Life coaching isn’t the same as counselling or therapy, which help people to resolve deep-seated issues from the past. Nor is it advice, which provides a prescription for what you should do. Instead, you take the driving seat, set the agenda, and make a start on what comes next in your life – on your own terms.
Mindfulness is a scientifically-proven way of training your mind to be stronger and clearer, so that you can deal with stress, feel better in yourself, and think more clearly. It’s a simple skill that anyone can learn. It’s all about paying attention in the present moment – observing and understanding your own experiences: your thoughts, feelings, and emotions. The training includes simple activities – meditation, gentle physical exercise, and a little bit of writing. In between each session, you’ll be invited to do a few activities at home – just 10-15 minutes each day.
If you’re involved in a difficult dispute with a someone like family member, colleague or friend, conflict coaching provides one-to-one support to help you resolve things. We’ll support you to explore what’s at the heart of the conflict, and to uncover new ways of dealing with things so that it doesn’t have such a negative impact on your life.
